The purpose of this page is to help families determine what type of racquet their player should be playing with as well as aid families in the pursuit of buying a NEW racquet for their player that will be best for them!
Head Size: Overall MOST racquet head size should be 100sq inches. STAY AWAY from the 105-110 inch oversize racquets as it limits spin potential and opposite STAY AWAY from the 98 inch head size as it limits your room for errors.
Racquet Length: For anyone taller than 5ft 2" you likely need the standard 27 inch racquet or for those over 6ft a 28 inch racquet works too. Those shorter than 5ft refer to charts below.
Racquet Weight: This is tricky. For most players having an unstrung racquet weight of 10.3oz-10.9oz is ideal, although advanced players can handle heavier racquets. The lighter the racquet, especially at the head, the faster a player can swing which gains power and consistency! See chart below for more guidance.
Grip Sizes: For most girls we recommend a 2 which is 4 1/4 inches and for boys we recommend a 3 which is 4 3/8 inches. To double check grip size refer to images below:
